Consulting

We are ready to help with any support needed to promote student achievement through powerful curriculum design, applied and innovative learning models, top-notch professional development, and high-quality instructional leadership. We are focused on supporting and empowering schools and districts to lead dramatic change that results in meaningful student engagement and sure-fire academic achievement.

We believe in consultancy that is facilitated and affirming, designed to honor the educators and leaders who are tackling the real challenges in their schools and districts. We can help improve teacher and leader capacity, root out inefficiencies in organizational design, get the most out of curriculum and instruction, and ensure that children learn and succeed.

Consulting Options:

  • An on-site analysis of core curriculum materials, followed by a full staff debrief with feedback and next steps. This is not an external curriculum audit, which can be impersonal, time-consuming, and expensive. This is a facilitated discussion in partnership with district subject-area specialists and curriculum leads. It is designed to be efficient, practical, and relevant for all.
  • A facilitated review of resources, guides, and professional development to ensure strategic alignment. Our inquiry is designed to question and level-set around our most basic understandings and then identify the right levers that lead to true learning and measurable results.

Extensive Leadership Experience

Dr. Evans has lived and worked among Florida’s largest school districts, amid all of the challenges and successes that come with dedicating one’s life to children and families. He most recently served as the Chief Academic Officer for Pinellas County Schools, where he oversaw curriculum, instruction, and training for a district serving nearly 100,000 students across 130 school sites. As Chief Academic Officer, the district earned its highest achievement scores in reading, math, and science in district history. As a result, Pinellas earned an A grade from the state for the first time in its history. The district also achieved its highest ever 3rd grade reading scores, and reached its highest rank among Florida districts across all subject areas. During his tenure, the Teaching and Learning Division:

  • Led district-wide curriculum audits to deepen instructional leadership and ensure that materials and resources were appropriately aligned, spiraled, engaging, and effective.
  • Created a new professional learning collaborative in partnership with various departments to increase teacher voice, empower teacher leadership, and promote innovative practices.
  • Expanded student athletics, recreational sports, and academic competitions in support of a whole-child approach to learning.

Dan has also served as a successful turnaround principal. He was hired at the request of the Superintendent of Schools to lead a high school that earned a D grade for seven consecutive years and was placed under state watch. During his tenure, the school received a B grade for the first time in school history and was removed from the state’s watch list. All school data points increased to their highest levels in nearly a decade, including reading and math proficiency, graduation rate, and college readiness indicators. He was named as the district’s winner and state nominee for the Principal Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership.
